My name is Ken Terrill. I am the founder and President of American Mortgage Professionals.  I handle all Reverse Mortgage inquiries personally. As a fellow Senior Citizen (age 66) I think I understand and share your concerns about the implications of obtaining a Reverse Mortgage.  A Reverse Mortgage is a big decision and I will do everything possible to make sure you understand what you are getting into. My company started offering Reverse Mortgages 13 years ago. We were approached by the then largest provider of Reverse Mortgages because they has no representative in the areas we served. At first I was somewhat reluctant because of the costs involved in setting up the program but ultimately decided there was a need and I could fill it. Demand was small at first but has grown steadily over the years.  Today we fund 60 to 100 Reverses every month nationwide.

American Mortgage Professionals is a H.U.D. and V.A. approved Mortgage Company founded in 1992. We correspond (originate mortgages for) most of the major lenders in the United States. We offer the F.H.A. H.E.C.M. (Home Equity Conversion Mortgage) as well as the Fannie Mae version. For those seniors with very expensive properties we have "Jumbo" programs that accommodate property values up to several million dollars.

I have been in the loan business since 1964. In 1982 I founded Terrill Financial, Inc. with the help of my wife Peggy. In 1992 we re-incorporated as American Mortgage Professionals, mostly to get a name that started with "A" so we would be first in the yellow pages. Now I am assisted by Peggy and our daughter Patti in running what has become a multi state endeavor.  With the advent of the Internet the Mortgage business has become impersonal. Many lenders rely on computers, voice mail, e-mail and avoid personal contact.  Here a human answers the telephone during regular business hours and will actually take a message by hand if I am not available. Yes, we do have voice mail and computers just like everyone else.  The difference is we don't actually like them!!
